HHS students and staff came out on March 31st for another successful blood drive. Ninety-five students, staff and faculty signed up to donate; only 21 of those couldn’t donate due to low iron in their blood. Each person donated approximately a pint of blood, and were rewarded with water, juice, and cookies afterward to reenergize.

Students had to sign up in Ms. Russo’s room, as long as they were older than 16 and had a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Ms. Russo was extremely happy with the turn out of the Blood Drive. She later said, “I’m glad so many people came out and helped the community. It’s wonderful to see so many students care about people who need blood.”

Many had great reasons to donate; whether it was to help out others who need blood, that it saves lives, and or that blood is in short supply. Whatever the reason, the blood drive was a huge success.
