David Mascis, ace pitcher for the Bears, is about to become a Ram.  On April 5, surrounded by his parents, Coach John Passero, and Athletic Director Art Mazzacca, Dave signed his NCAA National Letter of Intent to play Division II baseball for Philadelphia University.  “It’s amazing,” said Dave. “I get to live out my dream for the next four years of playing college baseball at Philadelphia and be a Ram.”

Coach Passero sees Dave as a hard worker who has given much to the Hawthorne baseball program: “Dave will be earning his fourth varsity letter this spring which is a rare accomplishment in our program,” said Passero. “Dave has pitched in so many big games for us. I know he will do great things in college and we will surely miss him next year.”
