Blood Drive

April 6 was another successful annual blood drive for Hawthorne High School. The HHS Student Council works in partner with Community Blood Services, to provide a day long event in which students and faculty can donate blood.  Each year this blood drive has around 80 donors.

The blood drive is set up in the small gym, fully equipped with beds, information desks, and a snack area for those who have recently donated blood.

Student Council adviser, Mrs. Russo, stated, “This helps to teach people to help the community and save lives. It is important to know that this is available and that it feels good to know that you have helped someone.” Also added by a volunteer worker, Kieran McAllister, “It was amazing to see how many people volunteered to donate their blood to help others in need of it.”
