I had the opportunity to sit down with Mr. Hawthorne himself, senior George Nadirashvili. Those who attended the Student Council fundraiser on Saturday, March 4 2017, got to see all of the contestants compete through a dance routine, talent portion, and fashion round. George impressed the judges all the way to the crown with his unique talent, dance moves, and wearing a dress. I got a chance to ask him some questions about his victory:

Interviewer: What was your favorite part of the whole Mr. Hawthorne process?

George: Practice everyday after school with the guys.

Interviewer: Was it different performing senior year, as opposed to junior year?

George: Yes, because Mike Deitrich wasn’t there to ruin my night.

Interviewer: Did McMann have any idea you were including him in your talent again?

George: He had no idea, and I was a little nervous he would refuse to come up.

Interviewer: How did you come up with your talent portion?

George: I got the idea from “Tape Face,” an act done by an America’s Got Talent contestant.

Interviewer: What inspired your fashion choice?

George: I’ve always wanted to be a flower girl.

Interviewer: Was it difficult to come up with on the spot answers for the question portion?

George: No, because I’ve thought about going on a date with Mcmann many times before.

Interviewer: Did you have any inspiration or advice from past Mr. Hawthornes?

George: Yes, I want to be exactly like Jake Grootenboer when I grow up.

Interviewer: If not yourself, who do you think should’ve won?

George: I think everyone did very well, but Jon DiFilippo and Alex Ferriola were right up there with me.

Interviewer: What made you decide you wanted to participate in Mr. Hawthorne?

George: Since I don’t have any friends, it gave me something to do everyday after school.

Interviewer: How does it feel to be Mr. Hawthorne? What’s the best part?

George: It’s great! The best part is the crown because it’s made of actual gold.

Interviewer: Any advice for future Mr. Hawthorne contestants?

George: I plan on reclassing next year, so I will still be Mr. Hawthorne.
