Art Club hosting Seniors & Teens Together

At the April gathering of the Hawthorne High School Library Media Center’s Seniors & Teens Together program, Art Club members invited their guests to create an acrylic painting. To begin the afternoon program, students paired up with their guests to guide each one through the painting process of choosing brushes, mixing colors, blending, and painting, as club adviser Danielle Russo demonstrated the step-by-step process.

Participating club members included Alex Nadirashvili, Alexandra O’Neill, Sarah Brown, Carly Manzi, Kieran McAllister, Sevan Adadurian, and Amy Moreno.

While enjoying light refreshments, conversation and lots of laughs, each participant (including Principal Dan LaGrone) took home a 12” x 16” beach scene.

This event marked the final gathering for the Seniors & Teens Together program in this school year. The program ran once a month throughout the year and was hosted by a new group of students offering a new program each month. The participating clubs included the Math Club, the Robotics Club, the Creative Writing Club, the Spanish Honor Society, the Italian Honor Society, the Digital Media Club, and the Art Club.
