Hawthorne High School alum Martin Van Treuren (Class of 1971)  appeared on TV’s hit series The Good Wife on October 11, 2015. In the episode titled “Innocents,” Van Treuren played Patrick O’Neal the president of an art museum.

Since participating in HHS productions in the 1960s and 70s, such as, Oliver, King and I, Carousel, Charlie’s Aunt, The Wizard of Oz, and The Variety Show,  Van Treuren’s passion for theatre has flourished into a successful acting career. Van Treuren attended Montclair State University as a Speech and Theatre major. After graduating from Montclair, he began pursuing his goal of being a professional actor. Van Treuren, who now lives in New York City, has had great success in his pursuit and has been cast in many renowned Broadway musicals and dramas. Some of his roles have included Lord Savage and The Spider in Jekyll and Hyde, Old Max in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Charity Man in A Christmas Carol, and Sid Phillips and The Villain in Singin’ in the Rain.
