Diary of HS Student Part One: Always Trust Your Gut

Victsi Rodriguez, Staff Writer

Transitioning from middle school to high school can be such a stressful process. It is so easy to get off track and follow footsteps that may not result in the best of ideas. Students always worry about how many friends they are going to make or if they are going to do well in their classes. Which is what I’m here to assist you with!

Never let someone make you feel like they are better than you or overpower you. You are perfect the way you are. Kids can be so mean as they make themselves look better reputation wise.

Avoid repeated criticism from people you claim as your friend because at the end of the day those aren’t the people who are going to stick with you when you need them the most. There’s always going to be a choice to get out of toxic situations in high school and it’s up to you to choose it.

Tricks :

  • Stick to reality
  • Don’t join toxic groups
  • Take your feelings into consideration
  • Walk away when conversations get heated
  • Ghosting is the best way to go

Daily reminder: An instinct is the body reminding us how to do things when it comes to coping with our surroundings. Always follow your first choice for the best results.
