Alumni Spotlight: David Maher

The Clarion is excited to introduce a new column called “Alumni Spotlight” showcasing graduates from Hawthorne High School. Next up, is HHS alumni Dave Maher from the class of 1990.

 

Clarion: How was your High School experience?

Maher: I had a really good time in high school…so many good memories.

 

Clarion: What was your favorite high school memory?

Maher: Without a doubt, spending time with my friends.

 

Clarion: What are you up to now?

Maher: I am married with three children…I am the former Asst. Chief of the Hawthorne Fire Department and I work for the Borough in the Water Dept. since 1993.

 

Clarion: Did you play any sports or were you a part of any clubs?

Maher: I was in the drum line of the band for 4 years.

 

Clarion: Did you end up attending college if so where?

Maher: I did not attend college.

 

Clarion: Who was your favorite teacher?

MaherMr. Bob Dore…he was the shop teacher back in the day.

 

Clarion: If you had to do high school all over again, what would you do differently?

Maher: Yes, I would have given a better effort and attended college.
