Alumni Spotlight: Joseph Metzler

The Clarion is excited to introduce a new column called “Alumni Spotlight” showcasing graduates from Hawthorne High School. Next up, HHS alumni Joseph Metzler from the class of 1966.

 

Clarion: What are you up to now?

Metzler: I am retired.

 

Clarion: Did you play any sports or were you a part of any clubs?

Metzler:  In high school I ran track.

 

Clarion: What was your favorite high school memory?

Metzler: My favorite high school memory was meeting my wife Anna.

 

Clarion: Who was your favorite teacher?

Metzler: My favorite teacher was Mr. Bartha, who was my wood-shop teacher.

 

Clarion: Did you end up attending college if so where?

Metzler: I did not attend college.

 

Clarion: How was your high school experience?

Metzler: My high school experience was okay…it was not great.

 

Clarion: If you had to do high school all over again, what would you do differently?

Metzler: I would not do high school again.
