The Clarion is excited to introduce a new column called “Alumni Spotlight” showcasing graduates from Hawthorne High School. Next up, HHS alumni David Majury from the class of 1983.

 

Clarion: What are you up to now?

Majury: I recently retired from the military after 30 years.

 

Clarion: Did you play any sports or were you a part of any clubs?

Majury: In high school I played football, basketball, and baseball.

 

Clarion: What was your favorite high school memory?

Majury: My favorite high school memory was playing sports and hanging out with my friends.

 

Clarion: Who was your favorite teacher?

Majury: My favorite teacher was Mr. Masiak.

 

Clarion: Did you end up attending college? If so where?

Majury:  I went to East Stroudsburg University, William Paterson University, and Seton Hall University.

 

Clarion: How was your high school experience?

Majury: My high  school experience was very positive and enjoyable.

 

Clarion: Has  any of the teachers you had impacted your life in any way? How? Who?

Majury: Coach DeMaio impacted my life. He helped guide me and get me to apply to West Point. I ended up attending West Point Prep School.

 

Clarion: If you had to do high school all over again, what would you do differently?

Majury: If I had to do high school all over again, I guess I would study harder.
