Alumni Spotlight: Matt Garrison

The Clarion is excited to introduce a new column called “Alumni Spotlight” showcasing graduates from Hawthorne High School. Next up, is HHS alumni  Matt Garrison from the class of 2016.


Clarion: How was your High School experience?

Garrison: It was great, from freshman year to senior year I always enjoyed going to school.


Clarion: What was your favorite high school memory?

Garrison: All the great times I had with friends and going to Italy after 4 years of Italian…and let’s not forget prom.


Clarion: What are you up to now?

Garrison: I am currently enrolled at William Paterson and studying Criminal Justice, and going to the Passaic County Public Safety Academy for Firefighter 1.

 

Clarion: Did you play any sports or were you a part of any clubs?

Garrison: I played baseball for 3 years, lacrosse 1 year, and football 1 year.



Clarion: Did you end up attending college? If so where?

Garrison: I attended Rowan University and then transferred to William Paterson University.



Clarion: Who was your favorite teacher?

Garrison: Mr. Woj was one of my favorite teachers.



Clarion: Did any of your teachers at HHS impact your life in any way?

Garrison: All of my teachers each impacted my life in a different way.

 

Clarion: If you had to do high school all over again, what would you do differently?

Garrison: I  wouldn’t do anything different.
