The Vow : 4 Stars

Since its release in February, women all across the country have been visiting their local movie theaters to see the new romance movie, The Vow. Paige, played by Rachel McAdams, and Leo, played by Channing Tatum, star in this dramatic romance. When Paige is in a devastating car crash and loses her memory, Leo is forced to make her fall in love with him all over again. Dealing with the struggle of her uptight parents interfering in their relationship, however, makes this task far more difficult. Leo’s love and devotion for Paige is extremely touching, which makes this movie just as romantic as movies such as The Notebook or Dear John, which McAdams and Tatum both star in.

McAdams and Tatum were excellent choices for the lead roles in this movie. Their connection in the movie seemed real and true, making it hard to remember that their romance was only on screen. On top of the portrayal, this movie was also very intriguing because it is based on the real life story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter.

“I really enjoyed the movie because it made me realize that love really does exist. It brought tears to my eyes,” HHS student Jessica Trojanowski commented about The Vow.

Because of its PG-13 rating, the recommended audience would be teenage girls and adult women because they can easily relate to the plot of The Vow. After the movie ends, almost every woman in the theatre will have tears streaming down her face.

Director Michael Sucsy ultimately did a very good job at capturing the emotion of this romantic story. The Vow has the potential to be a major hit and become a classic romance.
