On Monday, September 28, an old show started up with a new host. The very popular Comedy Central show called The Daily Show introduced a new host—Trevor Noah.

Trevor Noah was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He made his television premier on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2012. In 2013, he performed for the Royal Family in the Royal Variety Performance. Trevor Noah got the MTV African Music Award in 2015 for best personality. He speaks six languages including English, German, and Afrikaans.

The new host started the show as usual, as if nothing happened and then cracked a joke about Syria and had a good transition into a Pope story. His special guest was comedian Kevin Hart. The episode then ended with a segment called “A Moment of Zen,” which played a video of a news fail.

This first night showed that Noah might be able to live up to the challenge of filling the shoes of the former host, Jon Stewart.
