The Return of Space Jam

On December 10, 2016 Jordan Brand is re-releasing the beloved retro sneakers, the Space Jam XI for a retail price of $225.

Just in time for the 20 year anniversary of the movie, the sneakers are being released for the first time since 2000.  In 16 years that the retail price has skyrocketed from $120 to the current price of $225.  In order to meet the high demand, Jordan Brand is releasing full family sizes and labeling the drop as a general release.

This year’s version of the shoe will feature a number 45 embroidered on the back representing Michael Jordan’s return to the NBA in which he wore that number.  Other special features included are the specialized Space Jam box, a Nike Air insole, and a custom Jordan XI cover.  While the price point may be steep, the improved quality and special features may be a bang for your buck.

To celebrate the movie’s 20 year anniversary Warner Brothers’ studio screened special showings for the public in more than fifty theaters.  Those wanting to reminisce about their childhood, or the younger generation trying to learn about history, the screening will be tailored to all age demographics. Without a doubt Space Jam will be breaking the box office as it’s the highest grossing basketball film ever made.
