Actress Nina Dobrev recently confirmed her return to the series The Vampire Diaries on her Instagram page captioning it: I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever. The post was of her script surrounded by candles and letters.

Dobrev left the show in the sixth season, her character, Elena Gilbert, was put into a deep sleep that would be lifted if her friend Bonnie died. Their lives were linked. So it’ll be interesting to see how it will all play out.

Sadly this is the last season, but TVD fans are excited that Dobrev is coming back. Executive producer Julie Plec said to Variety,“I’m thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended — with Nina back to help us say goodbye.”

Writer and executive producer Kevin Williamson added, “I’m so excited to have Nina back to ensure our farewell episode is truly epic!”

The season finale airs on March 10th on The CW.
