On May 11, Miley Cyrus released her song “Malibu” along with the music video.

After watching the video, it can be confirmed that the song is nothing like anything Cyrus has done before. It’s more calming and slower-paced than her past music, like “We Can’t Stop” and “Love Money Party” both from her 2013 “Bangerz” album.

In the video, Miley is surrounded by nature and the beach. In a few clips, she is playing with her dog Emu who is a collie, which is also know as a “lassie dog.” Cyrus spends most of the video looking straight into the camera and occasionally square dancing. Overall the video is very light and happy.

Cyrus is also set to debut this song live at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 21.
