What is the Mandela Effect? The Mandela Effect’s origin came from the popular belief that in the 1980’s, after Nelson Mandela, the previous president of South Africa, was sentenced to prison, he later died there. However, he was actually released in 1990 and died in 2013. In other words, the Mandela Effect is when a large amount of people strongly believe an idea to be true and suddenly, it turns out to be false.

  • “Oscar Meyer” hot dogs and meats

Many people believe that the popular hot dog/cold cut brand is spelled Oscar Meyer with an “E”. However, the actual spelling is Oscar Mayer, with an “A”.
