Spring Break on a Budget

Alysa Krieger, Staff Writer

Spring is upon us and that means Spring Break of the 2018-2019 school year will be here before we know it. Most people like to go away on vacation, but some people can’t afford to or don’t want to deal with the giant crowds at Disneyland, so here at The Clarion we came up with some activities you can do this Spring Break that won’t break the bank.

  • Camping: You don’t need to buy thousands of dollars worth of camping gear to camp out in your backyard. All you need for this low budget camping trip is some bug spray, blankets and pillows, food, and of course a fire.

  • Photo-shoot: During Spring Break, people go to extravagant places and take photos. Well, you can do the same thing. One place I would highly recommend going to is Skyland’s Manor in Ringwood. They have a beautiful garden and status all around the place. It’s best to go when the flowers have bloomed so you can have all the beautiful colors in the background.

  • Go to an Open Mic Night: Many businesses close by, host open mic nights. You can either choose to go and listen to whoever is playing or perform yourself. This is a great activity to do with a group of friends or even your family.

  • Have a Movie Night: Who doesn’t love a movie night right? This is the perfect thing to do if you just want to be lazy over the break. You can pick out some of the best movies from 2018 or even movies from 10 years ago. Make sure you have lots of popcorn on standby.
