Earlier this year, Fitbit had introduced the idea of a kid-friendly fitness tracker for ages 6 and older. The tracker can record the children’s daily activity and share it with their parents. The Fitbit Ace 2 is now available just in time for summer.

The Ace 2 comes in 2 different colors, Night Sky/ Neon Yellow and Watermelon/Teal. Although there are only a few options, the color can be changed with replaceable bands. The bands are made of silicone, and are comfortable to wear and are adjustable to accommodate a child’s growing wrist. The Ace 2 is also waterproof, so children can take a dip in the pool with it on. The clock faces are customizable, including new animated options that allow kids to create their own custom look.

A feature on the Ace 2 can track how many steps your child takes, how many minutes they are active each day, and how long they are sleeping. Because of this, children can look at their times and can keep trying to achieve their goals.

To keep kids motivated to move, Fitbit created challenges that allow family members to compete in different step count competitions. Parents can also set up reminders to move, which will send a friendly on-screen message to encourage your kids to stay active throughout the day. Family members can also send words of encouragement or virtual cheers throughout the day. Unlike other wearable trackers, the Ace 2 does not have a GPS, so there is no way to track your child’s exact location.

The Ace 2 syncs to the Fitbit app, which can be installed on Android or IOS devices. Parents must set up a family account first, and then create an account for each child. You can now pre-order The Fitbit Ace 2 now on Fitbit’s website for $70, and it will be shipped in June. The device is also available on Amazon and at Best Buy.
