Everyone’s favorite web slinger is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

On August 20, 2019, many fans were upset about Spider-Man leaving the MCU because Sony and Marvel could not agree on a deal to continue their contract. However, on September 27, 2019, news surfaced about Sony and Marvel coming to an agreement on letting Spider-Man revert into the MCU.

Fans were thrilled with the news as it exploded all over social media platforms. Several actors immediately took to Twitter to share their joy with MCU fans. Based on the information released about the deal between Sony and Marvel, we know that Spider-Man will film a third movie which is scheduled to be released on July 16, 2021, along with a cameo in another Marvel film.

Initially, Toby Maguire was the first web slinger to drop two very successful Spider-Man films. After Maguire dropped the ball on the third film, Sony revamped Andrew Garfield as the new Spider-Man. After the production of two disastrous films, Sony decided to recast the role of Spider-Man to Tom Holland.

Currently, the future is unknown regarding Spider-Man’s residency within the Marvel Universe. Nonetheless, fans can relax because our favorite webslinger is safe in the hands of the MCU and everyone at the Marvel company!
