Joker directed by Todd Phillips is the newest and hottest movies out right now.

It came out October 4, 2019 and has already made 248 million worldwide as of October 7th, 2019. It is based off of the comic book character that was created all the way back in 1940. However he has appeared in other DC movies that involve the same setting. The Joker had been created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson and had debuted in an old Batman comic book.

According to reviews the movie is very dark and brutal. It shows a very good origin story concerning the Joker’s life. The movie is 122 minutes long which is just about over two hours which is pretty decent nowadays. The Joker is played by Joaquin Phoenix. Phoenix is perfect for the part because of how sadistic his face looks with the clown makeup on. To be a creepy, dark, and weird clown you need to be very good at acting and he does this role perfectly. When you are watching the movie you actually feel like you are watching the real thing because of how much of a dark vibe the actor gives off.

The plot is that there is a party clown named Arthur Fleck and he lives with his mother in Gotham City. Gotham is filled with a lot of crime and unemployment and Arthur has an issue where he laughs at inappropriate times. At some point a gang attacks him in an alley and a neighbor lends him a gun.

After his gun falls out of his pocket while he’s working as the clown, he gets fired. He tries other comedy jobs, but due to his laughing disorder, he struggles.

After all of this his mother becomes ill and he checks her files and finds out that he is adopted and he was also abused by Penny’s boyfriend. Due to all of this he murders his mother Penny.

After all of this he becomes the Joker.
