YouTuber Nikita Dragun Faces Backlash

It is not out-of-the-ordinary for celebrities to show up to red carpets with wild, crazy outfits and accessories.

However, when the accessory you include is three live men on leashes, there is no doubt that people will start to talk. Unfortunately, YouTuber, Nikita Dragun did this at the red carpet for the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards and believe me, people were not happy, calling the spectacle “reverse sexism” and “a very uncomfortable situation.”

Dragun, a 23 year old transgender YouTuber, has avidly advocated for not only trans rights, but women’s rights as well. When the situation became prevalent in the media, Dragun took to her Instagram to talk about the situation, and she surprisingly showed no remorse for her actions. She was quoted saying that the purpose of the look was to emphasize that “men are the dominant gender with power… and it’s time women take back that power. XOXO Nikita Dragun.”

How do you feel about Nikita Dragun’s look; is it an act of reverse sexism or are people exaggerating, making it a bigger deal?
