The show that launched an entire universe and has set the table for TV superheroes: Arrow.

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as the main protagonist, Oliver Queen. Oliver Queen is a billionaire playboy who was presumed dead after getting shipwrecked and spent 5 years on Lian Yu. Throughout that time he learned how to fight and 5 years later he returns to save Starling City under the persona of the Green Arrow. I’m going to review every season of Arrow as it inches towards it’s series finale in January.

Season 1 mainly focuses on Oliver trying to save the city from the cancer that is the very rich, robbing the very poor. However, Oliver runs into a foe in Malcolm Merlyn, or the Dark Archer, who is trying to blow up the Glades, the poor part of Starling, in revenge for the death of his wife. In the flashbacks, it recounts Oliver right after he got ship-wrecked on Lian Yu and trying to stay alive from a private militia on the island. Overall, season 1 is one of the best seasons of Arrow. Thus, getting a score of 8.2/10 from me.

Season 2 focuses on Slade Wilson, better known as Deathstroke. The flashbacks show how Slade and Oliver were friends in pursuit of the same goal, getting off the island. However, Slade takes a special drug called Mirakuru which enables him to be invisible. This leads to Slade trying to take over the city Oliver loves and to kill him from the inside. Oliver and his team defeat Slade and save Starling City. This season also introduces Barry Allen also known as The Flash. This season is the best season of Arrow getting a 9.3/10.

Season 3 is about the League of Assassins and how Oliver is heir to the throne to become the new Ras-A-Gul. The flashbacks are in Hong Kong and Oliver is working with a government agency in Argus to help stop the spread of a virus called the Alpha-Omega. Oliver takes down the league (in present-day) but he is unable to stop the spread of the virus in Hong Kong. This season could have been better, but it is not the worst. This season get’s a 7.1/10.

Season 4 was possibly the worst season ever and I am not even going to talk about it. This season gets a 0.5/10.

Season 5 simply put talks about how Oliver isn’t a hero, but a murderer. Feeling pressure from the villain this season Prometheus Oliver for a while gives up the hood and the role of Green Arrow. The flashbacks focus on Oliver in Russia trying to take down a powerful leader. This season is the best since season 2 and I will give it a 8.1/10.

Season 6 and 7 are basically the same and it focuses on Oliver trying to take down Ricardo Diaz and it has flash-forwards of future team Arrow. Oliver goes to prison for being the Green Arrow after telling the world he is the Green Arrow. These two seasons get a score of 6.2/10 and 5.5/10 respectively.

Season 8 is currently going on now and is the final season of Arrow. Arrow began in 2012 and launched a whole universe full of TV shows like The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Arrow is revolutionary for TV superheroes and will forever be remembered as one of the greatest superhero/vigilante shows of all time.
