Coping With Quarantine: Animal Crossing

Recently, a new game has been released that many people, including myself, have gained an addiction to. The game is called, “Animal Crossing New Horizons”. It is a life simulation video game developed and published by Nintendo made for the Nintendo Switch. There have been different versions of Animal Crossing in the past. However, this is the fifth one to be released. It was released on March 20th of this year, and has made a huge impact on its audience.

I find it quite ironic that this game was released just around the time that quarantine started, giving people something to play during all of their free time.

This game starts with you creating your own character and traveling to your own island (that you are able to name and decorate how you would like). You have the ability to gather and create items, catch insects and fish, and filling your island with your own villagers, who are animals that you can speak to and associate with. The graphics in this game are amazing and give a personal feel to how you can make your island truly feel like your own.

So far, this game has been a huge success for Nintendo and was seen as fun and almost addictive from the very beginning. Personally, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is thinking about purchasing it.
