In recents months the internet has gone head over heels for surprise hit video game  called Among Us. The game takes place on a cartoonish space ship in which crewmates must complete tasks to keep the ship running. The catch is that two of the players are imposters, tasked with the job of killing all the crew mates. It’s the crewmates job to not only complete their tasks but, to also figure out who they imposters are and vote them out before they kill everyone. The game has been especially popular with internet personalities on sites like YouTube and Twitch, as the game is played with 6 – 10 players every round. On October 20th we saw Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez throw her hat into the rink, when she decided to livestream herself playing the game on Twitch. Accompanied with fellow Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, the two played alongside massive internet personalities such as, JackSepticEye, Pokimane, MoistCr1tikal, and Corpse Husband. AOC’s stream saw nearly 400,000 viewers. Prior to jumping into the game, AOC took a moment to remind her viewers of the importance of voting before slowly learning how to play over a 3 and a half hour time span. One of the highlights of the stream was AOC hilariously reacting to how deep Youtuber/Musicians; Corpse Husband’s voice is. It goes without saying that all Among Us fans are clamouring for another stream.
