The Museum of Modern Art is located in New York. It is full of beautiful works of art and contains the Starry Night, created by Vincent van Gogh. In an article, I read that it is in New York thanks to the help of Lillie P. Bliss. She used her wealth to become one of the foremost collectors of modern art in the early 20th century. This painting has been in the museum and in one piece since 1941. Starry Night is so unique because van Gogh painted it while he was in an asylum. According to Vggallery, he was at Saint-Remy and his behavior was very erratic at the time due to the severity of his attacks and this is why it is one of his most famous works of art. The Starry Night was painted in 1889, it is a moderately abstract landscape painting of an expressive night sky over a small hillside village, according to Britannica.

You should go visit the Starry Night because it’s just over an hour away and worth the visit. The canvas is beautiful and much more appealing to the eye in person. Not only that, but The Museum of Modern Art contains almost 200,000 works of modern and contemporary art for you to enjoy. More than 89,000 of the pieces can be viewed online. But why view it online when you can go there in  person to see The Starry Night and many more? Every single piece has a story or meaning behind it and every one has a description of it in detail, I know this because I went last summer with my aunt and it was actually a lot of fun.
