Super Bowl 56: Halftime Show

Zak Maali, Editor

Super Bowl 56 is setting up to be a very historic event and it will have a whopping 5 performers during the halftime show.

Those that will be performing are as follows; Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige. This artist lineup is stacked for the rap/hip-hop fans. All of the artists are legendary in their own respect, and the nostalgia from the performance will be immense. With most of the artists being from the 90s, this will bring in a bit of an older crowd to tune into the Super Bowl just for the performance. The Super Bowl is one of the most heavily watched events across the globe, with around 117 million people watching the game every year.

The performers of the Super Bowl halftime shows are not paid anything for performing, the only thing that is supported is the travel and hotel costs. Pepsi covers these expenses since they fund the entire Super Bowl, and are the main sponsors for the whole operation.

The artists are mainly getting publicity from the performance rather than compensation. This would be a problem for most artists, but for the artists that want the publicity, it is perfect since they get a paid trip to watch the Super Bowl…and major publicity.

Viewers should be excited for this year’s Super Bowl due to the great game that is in store as well as the outstanding halftime show lineup.
