April 12, 2025 marked the start of the 26th annual Coachella festival. Coachella is a large-scale music festival hosted in Coachella Valley, California. This pop culture event is most known for their top-tier music line-up, alongside their guests’ crazy fashion choices. In attendance at the music festival are a sea ton of A-list celebrities followed by rising social media influencers. Coachella is also open to the general public, leading the capacity of guests to cap off at 125,000. Between the two Coachella weekends so far this year, the festival has had a total of 250,000 guests. Some notable celebrities such as Justin & Hailey Bieber, The Kardashians, Timothee Chalamet, Paris Hilton, and Alix Earle, were all spotted at the notorious music festival this year.
Fashion: Coachella is known for their flamboyant and flashy fashion trends. The dessert apparel consists of spunky fishnet skirts, chunky belts, and major boho vibes. At Coachella you will find many influencers dressed head to toe in flowy florals, while others prefer cowboy boots and fringe. Some guests tend to stray towards an edgier style, with chains and studded boots, which helps create the diversity in fashion that Coachella is all about. Not to mention, the artist lineup every year at Coachella, plays a major role in outfit inspo for those attending the festival.
Music: Headlining Coachella this year were artists such as Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone. This year the music festival had a total of 144 artists performing on six different stages throughout the past two weekends. Remarkable performances this year were provided by artists such as Lady Gaga, Benson Boone, and Charli XCX.
Performances: Lady Gaga took the stage at 11 pm and gave nearly a 2 hour grand show. Gaga left fans all around the world speechless at the “mayhem” she created on stage. Lady Gaga’s set consisted of a gothic theme, with gory costumes, strange dance sequences, and strobe lights, equating into an ethereal performance. Lady Gaga performed some of her most famous songs such as, Judas, Paparazzi, Bad Romance, alongside newer songs of hers, such as Abracadabra, and Die With a Smile. Lady Gaga has truly re-invented herself into a much more serious and powerful artist. The new Gaga has stolen the hearts of fans all across the globe. On weekend 2 of Coachella, the pop star experienced severe microphone difficulties during her set. Without missing a beat, Lady Gaga recovered from her headset to a handheld microphone, still providing a legendary concert for all 150,000 Coachella guests.
Benson Boone is a rising artist that started his career in 2021 after winning the famous tv show, American Idol. Benson Boone took the stage in a sequin jumpsuit to perform his own rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. Half way through his performance, Boone brought out former Queen member, Brian May, to perform with him. To the world’s surprise, the audience at Coachella was stone faced. Boone’s performance began trending everywhere due to the lack of emotion given by audience, while witnessing a former star taking the stage to perform one of his most famous songs of all time. Benson Boone overall gave an outstanding performance showing off his live vocals, and new music he is in the works of. During the second weekend of Coachella, Boone performed the same rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody in hopes this crowd would appreciate it more, followed by the announcement of his new album set to release this summer.
Techno queen, Charli XCX brought the rave to Coachella. During her set she brought out multiple surprise guests keeping the crowd on their toes. To join Charli XCX on stage, fan favorite musicians such as Billie Eilish, Troy Sivan, and Lorde all made guest appearances. Charli XCX became a staple in the music industry last summer, with her hit album, brat topping all the charts. The star gave Coachella fans an unforgettable performance by performing songs such as 365, Apple, Guess, and I Love It. With strobe lights and crazy techno beats, Charli XCX was able to capture the true essence of Coachella within her performance.
As Coachella 2025 has wrapped up, it will surely go down in pop culture history. Between the monumental performances these artists have given, followed by the new fashion trends that have emerged from this festival, Coachella has earned the title as the most popular music festival of all time!
