The famous Broadway show, Hamilton, written by Lin Manuel Miranda, now stars one time Tony award winner, Leslie Odom Jr.
“Who is Leslie Odom Jr?” you may be asking, well, he played Aaron Burr in the original cast of Hamilton. Hamilton opened in February 2015. Now, they are celebrating ten years on the Broadway stage.
Leslie returned to Hamilton on September 9, 2025. His time on stage will be a limited engagement, as he will only be performing for 12 weeks. Jeffrey Seller, the lead producer of Hamilton, invited Leslie into the show in 2014 during its off-broadway run. Soon later, they opened on Broadway. An interviewer from the red carpet at the movie premiere of Hamilton, asked Leslie, “Can you believe its been 10 years?” In awe and shock he responded, “I can’t believe it, well I can believe it…you know I lived a lot of life, but 10 years went by like that.”
Leslie is excited to come back to his first starring role on Broadway. Aaron Burr has changed his life and showed him a new point of view on theatre. Leslie’s performance dates are only from September 9, 2025 – November 26, 2025. As of now, ticket sales are through the roof, selling out many performances. The ticket prices have never been higher, as the lowest price being $755 and the highest being $1,525.50. The high ticket cost has been profitable for Hamilton, raking in $3.8 million in just one week. Sadly, since the prices are so high, this keeps regular people from being in the “room where it happens” these upcoming months.
Leslie’s reopening in Hamilton is so exciting. Congratulations to him and the original cast for keeping the history going on. As once said (and now continuously said daily) by Leslie Odom Jr, “There’s a million things I haven’t done, but just you wait.”
Well Leslie, we know what you have done, opened twice as Aaron Burr on Broadway in the same lifetime!
