The Kardashians have been on our television screens for over 17 years.
The Kardashian family’s show ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ first aired on October 14, 2007. With its final episode airing June 20, 2021.
A year later the family released their new show ‘The Kardashians’ on Hulu. Now the Kardashian family’s brand seems (please don’t sue me Kris Jenner) to revolve on them creating a stir. Take Kim wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ dress and supposedly (I said “supposedly” don’t come for me Kim) damaging it.
The Kardashians were early adopters and masters of social media, with Khloe having over 300 million followers on Instagram. Each family member has also built one or more brands, Kim launched Skims a shapewear brand which was valued at 3.2 million dollars in 2023. Kim also launched KKW Beauty, a makeup brand (now part of Skims).
Khloé co-founded Good American which is a denim brand with very diverse sizes. Kylie Jenner founded Kylie Cosmetics, which got her the controversial title of Forbes ‘Youngest Self made billionaire’. The title was considered controversial because Forbes claimed Kylie and her family inflated her earnings to make her net-worth higher.
There have been times when the family has been highly criticized; one example was Kim’s private island birthday party in 2020 during the height of the Coronavirus Pandemic, or when fans claim they are ‘bored of the show’ after realizing the family has fallen out of reality.
