Best Summer Vacation Spots

Summer is here, which means it’s time to count your coins in your piggy bank and see where you can go. Of all the places in the world, here is a list of the best places to vacation.

According to the article “World’s Best Places to Visit” on USNews.com, the best place to visit in the world is London, England. In London, whether you’re visiting for a day or for a month, there are things to keep you busy. With places like Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the Tower of London and the British Museum, there is so much to explore and sightsee. Besides its great sights, London is also great for families. According to the article “Best Family Summer Vacations” also on USNews.com, London ranks eight out of 13 of best places to travel with kids.

Second on the world’s best area to vacation, according to USNews.com, is Barcelona. Barcelona is a city in Spain that is highly known for its soccer team and colorful architecture. Here’s a tip from Barcelona-tourist-guide.com: Try not to visit Barcelona in August because the temperature is smoldering and the weather gets very humid. Many of Barcelona’s own residents leave the city because of this. Also, many small businesses close until September leaving only big businesses open, so you wouldn’t be able to get the full Barcelona experience. If you can only go in August, remember it’s hottest between 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. To avoid unnecessary damage to your skin, it’s best to stay inside or in the shade and out of the blistering heat. However, if the heat and sun are for you, you can still go to the beach and get a nice tan.

USNews.com’s third place on the world’s best summer vacation spots is Paris. Whether you know Paris as the fashion capital of the world or the city of love, it is surely a popular place to visit this summer. The Eiffel Tower is a must-see when visiting. Not only do you get to see and explore a historical landmark, but the Eiffel Tower is also a great place for looking over the beautiful city. USNews.com’s travel section also recommends learning basic French before heading to Paris. Also, remember Paris is a big city, so plan ahead to learn the metro routes. They also say to keep your metro ticket on you until you are out of the station or you risk getting a fine.

No matter where you go, whether you are traveling with your family or not, the best thing to do is to lay down for a nap after a long trip before you go sightseeing. This way you will have the energy to enjoy what you are doing. Also currency is something to worry about anywhere you are planning to overseas. Make sure to plan ahead and have your money exchanged beforehand. Also, bring extra money; you won’t necessarily need all of it, but it’s better to have more money for emergencies and surprise excursion than not have enough to be able to fully experience all the sights.

Vacations are a great stress reliever and a way to unwind. They’re a great way to get away and spend bonding time with the ones you love. So get out your summer clothes, slap on some sunscreen and get ready: summer is here, and so is vacation season!
