Tom Brady: A Year of Controversy

Jack Ponticelli, Staff Writer

Tom Brady, NFL superstar QB, has had a year filled with ups and downs.  After winning his fourth Super Bowl and third Super Bowl MVP, he was on top of the world.  But then rumors had begun to surface that the Patriots had tampered with footballs in the AFC Championship game win over the Colts.  After an investigation, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell issued a four game suspension on Tom Brady.  Brady’s initial appeal was unsuccessful, but on Thursday, September 3 a court official ruled for Brady’s suspension to be uplifted.  Brady could not be any happier, until more rumors started surfacing.

The next rumor was that Brady and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen, were getting a divorce. After being asked about the matter Brady commented, “We’re in a great place. I’ll just say that. I’m a lucky man. I’ve been very blessed with support from my family and certainly from her.”  The two have been married since 2009 and have two children, Benjamin, aged five, and Vivian, aged 2. Brady didn’t let any of this get to his head on Thursday September 10, as he and the Patriots beat the Steelers 28-21. He completed 25/32 passes for 288 yards and 4 touchdowns.  The Patriots traveled to Buffalo to take on the Bills, on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 p.m and won 40-32.
