According to Cnn.com, “…more than 154 million consumers shopped in stores and online” this past Black Friday, while also stating that “these consumers spent an estimated 3.34 billion on that day.”

Despite getting some great bargains on Black Friday,  we have all heard the horror stories that are associated with this shopping day; like, beware of the crazy shoppers who will do anything to get their hands on some of the best deals in the stores. This is not just a mere push or shove but many of these dedicated Black Friday shoppers will start physical fights in order to leave with what they wanted. Survivors of Black Friday shopping have been able to share some of their horrifying stories about some of the most insane people that they have encountered while in the stores.

1. During one Black Friday a few years ago,  hundreds of people had swarmed around the clothing section of their local Walmart. When the alarm sounded, indicating that the sale had begun, all the people rushed into the same area. Two women in  particular began throwing items of clothing to each other from across the room. While throwing a pair of jeans a petite teenage girl caught it. The poor girl was unaware of what was happening, when all of a sudden one of the women had elbowed her in the face. When watching all of this, one of the workers (observing all of this madness) took pity on the girl and pulled her aside to clean her up. It was at this time that the Sheriff showed up. With a surprising twist the sheriff turned out to be the girl’s father. Let’s just say justice was served because the lady was arrested. Worst of all she had to pay full price for her Levi’s.

2. Of course, not all violence that breaks loose on Black Friday occurs at Walmart. The next story takes place at Jo-Ann Fabrics involving  an old lady, mace and a breast cancer fleece. A regular at the store, she came in on Black Friday wishing to purchase a Breast Cancer fleece, in which she makes blankets and generously gives them to women dying of this terrible disease. The lady had ordered this particular item in advance and workers at the store had put it aside for her since she was a regular. An older lady had then entered the store, looking for the same fabric. She quickly began shouting at the other lady saying that she shouldn’t be able to take the entire store’s stock of fabric. After trying to calmly explain to the old woman that she had special ordered the fabric, the granny whipped out a can of mace and tackled her. It’s safe to say that the old lady was removed from the store after that ordeal.

3. In another event, a worker from a cosmetic store had witnessed a woman defecating into a makeup set that was part of the store display. She went through all this trouble simply because she refused to lose her spot on line. We already knew that these black Friday shoppers were a little nutty, but this lady took it to a whole new level.
4. While on line at Target a man got struck in the face with  a 42’ Westinghouse. He tried cutting to the front of the line, but that surely did not happen. The poor man received several stitches along with being diagnosed with a concussion. Let’s just say, never mess with these crazed black Friday shoppers.

5. Around the holidays, almost everybody loves smelling the holiday candles and picking out various scents for friends and family. When working at one of the lotion stores on Black Friday, one of the employees working that night had encountered a grown woman having a tantrum. When the employee tried explaining to her that they were out of her favorite holiday lotion, she went into a rage, in which she began throwing bottles, candles, and anything she could get her hands on. When she finally was escorted out of the store by security, the one store employee that had to deal with this woman in the first place, was also the lucky one to clean up the whole mess. This probably wasn’t the way this employee had thought he would spend his black Friday.
