The Flat Earth Theory

Since Kindergarten, we’ve all been taught that the Earth is round, but recently, the Flat Earth Theory has been making headlines.

What is it?

The Flat Earth theory is a philosophy which states that the Earth is flat and circular, surrounded by a massive protective ice wall, otherwise known as Antarctica. The heavens also supposedly surround the flat earth in a protective dome.

Why do people believe that the Earth is flat?

People have various reasons as to why they believe that the Earth is flat. One reason is that even at the highest points of elevation, no one has ever truly seen the Earth’s curve. Think about it, have you ever seen a curved horizon? Every picture that anyone has ever seen of the globe is actually photo-shopped. Since Earth is so large, there has never been a camera to fully capture the entire half of it. So, Scientists at Nasa “stitch” thousands of photos of the Earth into one big globe. NASA has the ability to stitch these photos into any shape, hence why individuals are skeptical. People also believe that when air pilots fly, the government tricks them into thinking they are flying circularly around the globe, when in reality, they could just be flying in a circle over a flat plain.

If Earth is flat, why would NASA lie?

Although this is extremely controversial, people who believe in this theory also believe that NASA could be trying to shield humans from God. Evidence of a flat Earth can be supported in many verses in the bible including, “Clouds veil Him so that He cannot see, as He walks on the circle of the sky,” (Job 22:14). In this case, the circle of the sky would be the dome that encloses Earth.

Now what you’ve heard the theory…what do you believe?
