Best Places to See New Jersey Fall Foliage

There is no doubt that New Jersey’s foliage is beautiful throughout the seasons, but fall takes first place when it comes to the beautiful transformation of colors in its landscape. Here are some places to visit this fall to see New Jersey’s vast autumn color palette:

 

Palisades Interstate Park which is located in Alpine, is a great place to go hiking and picnicking as the park spans 5 miles. If you want to see a beautiful view, take one of the trails up the Palisades Cliffs  to Clinton Point or Huyler’s Landing to take in all the beautiful colors and landscape.

Ramapo Mountain State Forest in Wanaque is a great mountain to take a short hike up to see the bright leaves and beautiful Ramapo lake and New York City skyline. If you like wildlife, the Ramapo State Forrest is famous for its bird sites due to its ponds and streams that run throughout the Forrest. You can also explore the ruins of the Van Slyke castle.

Norvin Green State Forest in Ringwood is a massive wild life sanctuary that contains all undisturbed forest. The forest has 10 trails that run throughout its different landscapes. One of the most stunning views in the forest is at  Wyanokie High point which gives a 360 degree view of a vivid skyline of endless fall foliage.
