You can help to save lives! On March 31, 2015, Hawthorne High School will host its annual Blood Drive. The blood drive will take place in the small gym from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students 16 years and older are able to participate but must register and get a permission slip from Student Council Coordinator Danielle Russo.
According to CommunityBloodServices.org, “Nationally, less than 5 percent of the population donates blood. In NJ, less than 3 percent of the population donates.” But at Hawthorne High School, the participation rate has always been high. Russo said, “We always have a great turn out, the Community Blood Services in Paramus loves coming to our school. It’s a great way to give back, and to help save a life!” On its website, the American Red Cross states, “One pint of blood can save up to three lives!”
Help save a life and make sure to come out on March 31 and support the Community Blood Services in Paramus!
