With April coming to an end, we now enter into a brand new month which is May. May is when the warm weather rises, as well as May has the holiday that celebrates and honors all the moms in the world which is Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Additionally, it is the second to last month of the school year.
To begin the month of May, College Decision Day will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026. This day will mainly focus on and be for all Seniors and Staff. They will be wearing their appropriate and mandatory college attire for the college they will be attending in the Fall.
On Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8 and Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, there will be AP Testing that will take place in the Media Center/Library.
Hawthorne High School will be having a PTO Meeting that will take place in the Main Cafeteria on Thursday, May 7. All adults and guests are encouraged and invited to attend this PTO Meeting if they are interested and feel up to it.
On Friday, May 8, there are two special and fun events that will take place on this day. The first special and fun event is the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon that will start during the lunch break period which is at 11:00 AM. The second special and fun event is the Performing Arts Club and Dance Performance that will take place in the high school auditorium at 7:00 PM.
The NJSLA Testing will take place on Monday, May 18 through Friday, May 22. Only Freshman and Juniors are required to participate in taking the NJSLA Testing and the NJSLA Testing will involve all level courses of Math, English and Science.
The Spring Concert will be held in the high school auditorium on Tuesday, May 19 at 7:00 PM. All students, families and guests are encouraged and invited to participate in attending this coherent and fun concert event, so that they could show their support to the students who are participating and playing in the Spring Concert.
The Art Show will be held in the high school courtyard on Thursday, May 21. On this day, all students will be honored by other students and staff who will be taking the majority of their time to look at all of the amazing and creative art works that the students from Mrs. Russo and Ms. Ambrogio’s classes have been created throughout the 2025-2026 school year.
On Monday, May 25, it is Memorial Day. School will be closed for all students and staff on this day.
The Senior Scholarship Night will be held in the high school auditorium on Thursday, May 28 at 6:30 PM. This will be one of the first Senior activities/events for the Seniors.
Last but not least, the Senior Athletic Brunch will take place at The Brownstone on Sunday, May 31 at 9:30 AM. This event is mainly focused on any Seniors who have participated and played in any sports seasons throughout their high school years at the varsity level, whether it is the fall, winter and/or spring season. All families and guests are encouraged and invited to participate in attending this spectacular and thrilling Sunday event.
