November: HHS Media Center

Sonia Hadjmustafa, Staff Writer

November was a special month for the HHS Media Center.

The library highlighted Military Appreciation Month. The Media Center dedicated and honored the military’s hard work and leadership by setting up a section filled with military books and items. The military items were then raffled off. They included an army lunch bag, wool cap, towel, and desk calendars. Students who signed out books in November were automatically entered into the raffle.

November was a month filled with many birthdays for some of our favorite authors: Mark Twain, Albert Camus, C. S. Lewis and Kurt Vonnegut. These authors are responsible for some of the greatest books ever written. Books by these authors were on display and were available to read at the library.

At the library also displayed books aimed at Latino teens. Not only did they have books written in English, but they had some books that were in Spanish too. There was something for everyone.

There was some artwork on display as well. In the lounge area students could look at the black & white drawings done by Ms. Russo’s art students.  They were all very unique pieces of art.
