Trump Place Being Renamed

Trump Place will be renamed after hundreds of tenants signed a petition to remove the president elect’s name from various buildings.

This comes after Donald Trump came under fire for several allegations of him groping women and a TMZ video that confirmed this evidence. The “Place” will be renamed to their building addresses: 140, 160 and 180 Riverside Boulevard.

Back in the 1990’s, Trump had the three buildings  built along Riverside Boulevard. Trump owned and maintained them until 2005, when he sold it to Equity Residential. Equity Residential and Donald Trump signed a contract stating that Trump Place was supposed to be renamed. It never happened.

People who signed the petition feel that renaming the buildings will be making sure that it is “neutral territory.” Also, people feel that New York is a multicultural city and due to Trump’s controversial speeches, the people feel that they need to protect the ethnic diversity of the Big Apple.

The renaming process is set to begin today.
