Hawthorne Santa Parade

Mackenzie Costello, Staff Writer

This past Saturday was the Annual Hawthorne Santa parade. It was another successful parade with many Hawthorne High school students participating in the event.

The parade took place Saturday morning at 10am. There was a big turnout of many organizations/people who came to watch and participate in the parade, like the Hawthorne High School cheerleaders, the local girl scouts and boy scouts, the various fire Departments, and the Hawthorne Police Department, the Hawthorne School of Dance, and the HHS marching band, Etc.

The band played Christmas carols in the parade featuring (Jingle Bells, Joy to the World, and Jolly Old St. Nickolas). The HHS Color Guard got to wear their brand new uniforms, which matched the holiday spirit, because they are burgundy with silver sequins. They looked very festive.

The weather was great and the parade was a big hit; people from town and other towns came to support or be a part of this fun filled morning. To top off such a wonderful morning, Santa and Mrs. Clause appeared, like they do every year.
