Hawthorne Holiday Tree Lighting
December 6, 2017
On Friday, December 1 at 6 p.m. Mayor Richard Goldberg, with the Hawthorne council at his side, sprang into the holiday season with the annual tree lighting outside of the Borough Hall. Assisting with the lighting were the Girl and Boy Scouts of Cub Pack 30.
According to the website tapinto.net, Councilman Bruce A. Bennett stated, “The annual holiday tree lighting ceremony is one of those seasonal traditions that helps Hawthorne maintain its small-town feel.”
The ceremony last about one hour. Free ornaments were given away, along with free hot chocolate and cookies.
