The Brothers Castellanos: 10th Annual Hawthorne Day

The 10th annual Hawthorne Day was a total success. It was filled with laughter and joy. Locals from Hawthorne and neighboring towns came together to celebrate this annual town event. It was filled with music, food, rides, and entertainers. There was also a petting zoo, pony rides, and laser tag. Young kids could enjoy the balloon artist and older people could enjoy the bands performing in the band shell.

The Hawthorne High School Marching Band also performed at Hawthorne Day. There was a special tribute for the home town celebrity, Deborah Harry from the classic rock band Blondie. “The Nerds” performed later in the day.

Local police, fire, EMS, schools, churches and businesses had booths set up beside the pool. They had information and some booths were handing out free items.

If you were hungry there was plenty of food to eat. Food trucks were set up serving a variety of food. You could get a hamburger, hotdog, ice cream, popcorn, and even fried Oreos.

To end the awesome day there was a huge firework show. It lit up the whole night sky with everyone looking up. The day was a total success and everyone cannot wait for the 11th Hawthorne Day.
