Victor Place Fire

Maria Nunez, Staff Writer

Another Fire occurred in Hawthorne on Sunday night, November 21, 2021.

The fire occurred on Victor Place at around 7 p.m. . The fire did a lot of damage to the house, including the back and top of the house, as well as the backyard and  the things that were there. The fire caused serious damage to the roof and melted much of the house’s facade. Debris seen next to the house was heavily damaged as well.

The fire was put out after an hour. Thankfully the fire crew was able to put it down and make sure everyone was safe. The firemen still stayed after the fire was out, making sure it wouldn’t restart.

Thankfully, everyone was safe. None of the family members living in the house were injured. The fire did cause two pet cats to die and another one was missing. Very sad, but thankfully no one else living in the house was injured. The house was the only other thing that really got damaged.

We can only thank the Hawthorne Fire Department who help with all the emergencies we have and come and put their lives in danger to help others. The Glen Rock, Wyckoff, Fair Lawn, Ridgewood, Haledon and Paterson fire departments also responded to the scene.
