2020 All Over Again?

Victsi Rodriguez, Staff Writer

As known there is a new variant of Covid-19 called Omicron.

Omicron spreads more easily than the original strain and those who are more up to date with their vaccines tend to go through less severe illness. It’s becoming an out of control nationwide surge.

Recently Hawthorne High School (and the entire school district) went remote from January 3rd to the 7th due to rising cases in our area.

Mayor Lane wrote his weekly letter to Hawthorne residents stating the circumstances of the new variant. There are a total of 521 active cases and it has become a threat to all of us. The Mayor has encouraged all residents to get vaccinated to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Many know 2020 was an awful year; it damaged most people financially, emotionally, and even physically…but hopefully 2022 brings new and better beginnings. Always wear your mask, wash your hands and look out for your loved ones and friends …

So do you think 2022 will be like 2020 all over again or will it be more preferable?
