The Reopening of Bogie’s Hoagies

The Reopening of Bogies Hoagies

Cadence O, Staff Writer

Bogie’s Hoagies has been a beloved sandwich shop in Hawthorne since 2010!

The menu includes heroes (hoagies), pizza, pasta, and so much more. The sandwich shop has attracted so many people, even from out of town.

Sadly, with the rising cases of Covid in October 2021, Bogie’s Hoagies was shut down on the 10th. “The pandemic hit us hard, but we did everything we could to keep our doors open to serve the best community around”, this statement was posted by the official page of Bogie’s Hoagies. It’s sad to see owners of local businesses to be around so long, only to fall to this virus. It’s the reality of businesses today and people aren’t too happy about it.

But the Bogie’s Hoagies story did not end there. The new owners of the establishment (and former customers!), Michele Carnevale, Pat and Maria DeMarco, and Paige Lazicki (daughter of Carnevale) were excited to announce that they reopened their shop on January 17th this year.

And although there is new ownership, their menu is still the same. They also will still have the same staff, and the same decor. This was definitely the heart warmer of the new year and I know myself and many other Hawthorne citizens can say they are happy for their reopening.

So make sure to stop by Bogie’s Hoagies during the hours of 11am to 9pm and support the staff and new owners!
