As the winter season rolls in many people begin to fall into a slump or seasonal depression. It starts getting darker earlier, the weather changes from chilly to freezing cold and this sets off a brain chemical change. During this time many people stay home secluded away from others. A majority of the time they would like to go out, but they have no idea where to go or what to do. However, despite the cold weather there are so many fun winter activities to do that are inexpensive such as:
- Ice skating- a fun way to stay active and spend time with friends/family
- Snowboarding/sledding- a great way to take advantage of the cold weather and the snow
- Roller skating- an indoor activity similar to ice skating, but without the cold or the wet ice
- Playing in the snow- a very simple inexpensive activity that does not require people to go far from their homes
- Watching movies- a warm and cozy activity that can be done in the house. It also helps prepare for the holidays because there are so many Christmas and Thanksgiving movies.
- Making cookies- an activity that everyone can partake in especially little kids that love to decorate
- Making gingerbread houses- a way to get all family involved and collaborate in building the best gingerbread house. This can also be a private activity to do for fun.
- Go to the mountains or the great falls- a nice way to enjoy all the scenery that comes with the cold weather and just enjoy it all.
- Vacation to somewhere warm or cold- a way to get away from the cold weather and relax somewhere warm and tropical
- Go to a ski resort- a way to enjoy the ice and snow while being away from home and in a new environment
