Everyone has someone who is a good influence on them in their lives, moms, dads, siblings, friends, grandparents. To me there are a few people who are very important, my parents. My Mom and Dad have always been there for me, no matter the situation.
My Dad runs a non-profit organization in Paterson called SOLID Foundation. He not only helps me, but helps others daily. SOLID Foundations goal is to help people become the peacemakers and leaders they are meant to be. SOLID Foundation teaches people how to become a leader through skateboarding, art, and education. The goal of SOLID is to help crime and violence rates decline as they use the slogan, “Pushing for Peace.” My Dad founded SOLID to help people learn how to become good and well spirited humans. “Its more than just a skate program, its a movement,” as a child who grew up around these mottos, education and community, it has helped me grow to be the teenager I am now. My Dad helps me learn when I struggle, feel better when I’m sad, or just be a good mentor to my younger peers. My Dad and I always enjoy hanging out together, whether we go thrifting, grocery shopping, cooking dinner, or just relaxing at home. I love my Dad.
My Mom has always been there for me, just like my Dad. My Mom is a crisis therapist she helps children, teens, and adults with problems that no one else can help with. My Mom loves her job and helping people is what she does best. She works at different times everyday so I don’t have guaranteed time with her every night, but everyday is the best with her. She helps me with my issues that no one else can understand. She also takes my family on vacations, Broadway shows, the beach, etc. I’m so grateful for everything she does. I love my Mom. My parents job titles are different however they follow the same principle, they love to help people. I thank my parents for being so good to me. They have molded me into the strong girl I am, and I’m so incredibly grateful for them I love them more than the world.
