AP tests are here. By taking an Advanced Placement class, students are better prepared for college and are given an opportunity to obtain college credits. A student will earn a score of 1 to 5 on the test. A score of 3 and above is a passing score, but a student can receive college credit based only on the criteria of the college. One college may give a student college credit if he or she receives a 3 while another college may give a student college credit only if he or she receives a 5.
There are 34 AP courses offered to high school students. HHS offers eight AP classes: AP Environmental, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP English Literature and Composition, AP History, AP Biology, AP Physics, and AP English Language and Composition. During each exam, a proctor will be available and students will be given a 5 minute break. The school library and band room will be closed during the AP exam weeks because exams will take place in these rooms.
