HHS Annual Italian Club Fashion Show

The HHS Italian Club, run by Marissa Margarucci (Italian I and IV teacher), held its fifth annual Fashion Show on Thursday May 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the HHS auditorium. The show was entitled “Sfilata di Moda, dalla biblioteca alla discoteca,” meaning: Fashion Show, from the library to the club.

The event started off with a skit starring senior Lisa Patmos and sophomores Nicole DeSpirito, Alexa Ambrogio, and Ryan Zawojski. DeSpirito, Ambrogio, and Zawojski were in the “biblioteca” getting ready to go out to the “discoteca” when Patmos, the librarian, told them to stop dancing and do their work.

Patmos then introduced a slideshow including all of the models, seniors: Madison Cornett, Jenna Doller, Bridget Morrissey, Patmos, Eloyce Pedragon, Alexandra Ross, Cecilia Schiavo, Nicole Vilardo, Matthew Grimaldi, Ryan Hollis, Nick Marino, Luis Mendoza, Mark Neri, Mitchel Noordeloos, Phillip Polentarutti, and Michael Tamburri.

MCs for the event, seniors Amanda Hauser and Dana McNish, announced two rounds of casual wear, supplied by Jessie Salvador and her staff at JCPenney. Each round included fun facts and goals of each of the models.

During intermission, refreshments were provided and prizes were raffled off. Enza’s Ristorante, Town & Country Apothecary, Hawthorne Institute of Martial Arts, Puzo’s Family Restaurant, Im = X Pilates Studio, Sprinkles Ice Cream, Namaste Organic Spa, Family Jewlz.com, and TexPrint USA donated prizes to the Italian Fashion Show for this raffle.

After intermission, the models arrived at the discoteca where they began the evening wear round, which also included HHS teachers Theresa DiGeronimo, Danielle Russo, Cheryl Smith, John DiLonardo, and Ryan McMann.

The event ended with a special thank you to Margarucci. She received flowers and talked about her experience with the seniors and faculty.

“My favorite part of the show was being around all of the students and experiencing their true personalities,” Margarucci said.
