Hawthorne High School’s Spanish Club is hosting a Latin Fiesta in celebration of the Mexican holiday, Cinco de Mayo. The fiesta will take place on Friday, May 2, in Rooms 217 and 218 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The club will be selling traditional Spanish food including empanadas, quesadillas, churros, and flan. In addition to the food, there will be activities including a piñata and the classic game of pin the mustache and sombrero on the teacher.
There is no entrance fee into the event, and all food items and activities will cost $1.00.
Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that commemorates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
On May 2, make sure to head on up to the Spanish Club’s Latin Fiesta for delicious food, fun games, and great Latin music.
